Clerks get pay rise
I PA Wellington About 40,000 clerical workers can look forward to a 3.3 per cent wage increase. The Industrial Commission has registered new awards for clerical workers covered by the main clerical workers’ award and those employed in Totalisator Agency Boards and by taxi companies. All three provide for a 3.3 per cent wage boost, backdated to December 7, December 8, and December 6 respectively. Meal money in all three documents is increased to $1.50. There are also improvements in shift and other allowances.
