FACTORS THAT HAVE AFFECTED OR ARE AFFECTED THE EFFICIENCY OF THE HEAVY ENGINEERING INDUSTRY A COMMISSION HAS BEEN APPOINTED to inquire into and report upon: (a) The factors that have contributed to the closure of individual undertakings in the heavy engineering industry over the last decade: (b) How any such factors whether matters prejudicial to the continued viability and efficiency of existing undertakings within the field can or should be removed or avoided: (c) Any associated matters that the Commission may deem to be relevant to the geenral purposes of the inquiry. Persons or organisations concerned with matters falling within the Commission’s order of reference are invited to appear before the Commission. All persons intending to give evidence at the hearings are asked to advise the Secretary accordinly by January 17. 1977. and to have six copies of their evidence available at the hearing. The Commission will commence its sittings on Monday. January 24. 1977. at. the Industrial Court, U.E.B. Building, Eden Crescent, Auckland, commencing at 10 a.m. Further hearings will be held in Wellington and Christchurch commncing on February 7 and 21, 1977, respectively at venues to be announced.
