Top league coach for Chch
The director of rugby league coaching in Australia, Mr Frank Johnson, will conduct a one-night seminar in Christchurch on November 9 as part of a tour of this country.
Mr Johnson was the guest speaker at the national coaching conference in Rotorua early last season, and administrators were sufficiently impressed with his ability to impart his knowledge of coaching techniques that he was invited to make a more extensive visit.
The venue for the Christchurch seminar will be the Marist-Western Suburbs clubrooms at Bishopdale, and Mr Johnson will be bringing an instructional film with hini. It is also hoped to arrange for an expert in sports medicine to be present.
The secretary of the Canterbury Rugby League (Mr D. G. Gaynor) said last evening that the seminar was open to all coaches, players and officials.
