'Green wave’ off tonight
Motorists should not expect the familiar phased “green wave” of traffic signals in the Christchurch one-way street system this evening.
Computers controlling the signals will be isolated fpr about four hours from 6.30 p.m. so they can be modified to include more computer-controlled intersections.
City Council officers urge more driving care this evening while normal phasing is gone. First additions to the modified computer system will be intersections along Bealey Avenue, between Harper Avenue and Durham Street.
