Negotiations for Grasmere
Negotiations for the private sale of Grasmere station, in the Canterbury high country, are now in progress. Grasmere failed to reach the reserve price when offered at auction in Christchurch last Friday. A spokesman for the selling agents, Dalgety Real Estate, confirmed yesterday that the negotiations were with a person who attended the auction but took no active part in it. Bidding for Grasmere stopped at $266,000, a figure believed to be about $30,000 short of the reserve price.
