Alert at airport

PA Wellington Emergency services were put on a full alert at Wellington Airport last evening after the pilot of a Capital Air Services Cessna 402 reported suspected instrument trouble half-way across Cook Strait.

Airport crash firemen lined the runway and police, ambulance ana traffic services were on hand as the plane prepared to land at 8.40 p.m. The plane landed safely and a check by engineers failed to reveal any fault. The aircraft was on a scheduled flight from Blenheim and was carrying two passengers.
