Banned Mass said
PA Auckland Ar. Australian Roman Catholic priest left Auckland for Sydney on Saturday after a fortnight’s stay in New Zealand, durwhich he celebrated the banned tridentine (Latin) Mass in private homes. Accompanying the priest on his New Zealand trip was Mr Leo Massey, a Catholic layman, and spokesman for Australian Catholics opposed to liturgical and other reforms introduced by the Vatican.
Before leaving, Mr Massey said he had been telling’ people in New Zealand that the reforms were not Catholic, whether they came from the Vatican or not.
The priest, who preferred to remain anonymous, has made regular trips to New Zealand for the last year to say the Mass according to rites which were banned by the Vatican Council 10 years age.
