Old Boys basketball side still unbeaten

High School Old Boys are now the only team remaining unbeaten in the Canterbury A grade men’s basketball summer league. Further stengthened by the inclusion of the young 6ft 6in New Zealand trialist, John Hall, Old Boys gained a convincing 82-42 win over Aranui High School in the third round. Previously unbeaten, Y.M.C.A. suffered its first defeat of the summer season against N.A.C., 66-60. It now shares second place with N.A.C., Cave Rock, and Lakers.

In the women’s A grade, Mairehau retained its narrow lead with a comfortable 36-20 victory over Brighton. Its two nearest challengers.
