Final Curtain staying home
Plans to campaign Final Curtain in the South Island during the next few weeks have been scrapped. Instead the gelding will race at meetings in the north before he goes to Christchurch for the New Zealand Cup meeting in November. Final Curtain returned to Clevedon last night in the care of his regular driver. B. Purdon, after competing at the Wellington meeting. Tough Going has been sold to the Central Standardbred Agency and is to be transported to the" United States in the next fortnight He will possibly start on Saturdav In the Introductory Handicap at Alexandra Park, for which he has been re-handi-capped 10m to 30 behind. A C.S.A. director. C. Hunter, will drive him if he runs. Hunter will also handle Lauder Lumber which will be flown to North America next Monday.
