Death of official
Mr A. G. Jamieson, a prominent official of the New Brighton Trotting Club for more than 25 years, died last week at his home at Kaituna. Mr Jamieson was elected a steward of the club in 1943 and he became a member of the committee a year later. He was president of the club from 1953 until 1955, after which he was the honorary treasurer until 1969. He was elected a life member in 1966.
Mr Jamieson was managing . director of J. and W. Jamieson for many years and he had extensive interests in timber companies on the West CoastHe also served one term as a Christchurch City Councillor. Mr Jamieson bred and raced quite a number Of horses. Among the horses in which he had an interest were Western Winner. Regardless, Hallucination. Readiness, Rascal, Scotfree, Margaret Logan, Forewarned, Prepared, Gracte Fields. Gratuitous and Comedy Lua.
