No mice, or morons
PA Wellington Parliament has added two expressions to the list of terms not acceptable in Parliamentary’ debate. Sir Basil Arthur (Lab., Timaru) was asked to withdraw the term, “political mouse,” during debate on the Whangarei City Empowering Information Centre Bill. Minutes later, in the same debate, Mr M. J. Minogue (Nat., Hamilton West) called two Opposition M.P.s “political morons.” He also had to withdraw the term, at the request of the Chairman of committees (Mr J. R. Harrison).
