Three skippers disqualified

(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) BRISBANE.

Jonty Farmer, of New Zealand, and two others were disqualified in a sensational finish to the sixth heat of the world Finn-class yachting championships at Brisbane yesterday. Farmer was first- to cross the line but he and Chris Law (England) and Robert Butler (Canada) were classed as not having completed the course correctly and the fourth to finish, Ed Dennet (United States) was promoted to first and Jacques Busquet (France) to second. Bennett and Busquet acknowledged a course correction and wind shift correctly to round the final down-wind mark as required in the sailing instructions. It was unfortunate for Farmer, who thoroughly deserved to win the event as he improved as the race progressed. Farmer, looking for a win to improve his over-all score, on the leader, Law, sailed a well-judged race throughout. Farmer was lying second after five heats.
