(cleared 20ft Bin under the stimu-j lus of the competition provided by a Commonwealth Games long jump representative. Miss Susan. Burnside (Christchurch) at Mount Smart Stadium. Mrs Hendren’s .lump of 6.29 m was onlv 6cm outside the guideline qualifving standard for the Montreal Olympic Games and, coming so early in the season, means that she ahould qualify comfortably. A following wind prevented a record being recognised.
