Police seek assailant
Detectives are still seeking a man who assaulted a newspaper delivery man in Stanmore Road on Saturday and then drove off in his car.
Graeme William Guiney, aged 19, of 140 Woodham Road, said he had stopped to unload copies of “The Press” in Stanmore Road about 5.15 a.m.
A man approached the car, and punched Mr Guiney through the open window. “It really knocked me. I was dazed for about 10 minutes,” he said.
I The attacker got into Mr Guiney’s car and drove off. Police later found the car abandoned behind the Richmond Workingmen’s Club. No*-bjng had been stolen.
Mr Guiney described his assailant as being about 6ft, of so'id build, with shoulderlength dark hair. He was wearing gloves, and had a black scarf around his mouth.
