Early settlers’ museums
Sir, — To read that precious books, antiques, papers, and photographs were swept away in a recent flood is very unfortunate. As other centres have early settlers’ museums what a pity we do not have one in Christchurch, or is there one I have not heard about? There must be many early photographs, books etc., hidden away in storerooms instead of being displayed openly for an interested public to enjoy. Let us hope ail these will be rescued. — Yours etc., R. I. WITTY. March 1, 1975.
