Mr Rowling’s seat

Sir, — I have noted, with some concern, the recent upsurge in suggestions that as the Prime Minister holds a marginal seat, he could face the prospect of defeat in the General Election. I am sure that Mr Rowling has attempted to do what he thinks is best for New Zealand and it would be ironic if he were not re-elected.

I therefore propose that Mr Rowling be offered a somewhat safer seat so that he need not be caused any undue worry or strain in the forthcoming election. May I suggest my home electorate, Sydenham, as being suitable for such an exchange. I’m sure Mr Kirk would be only too pleased to help his leader and would welcome the challenge. — Yours, etc., P. C. MORRIN. February 24, 1975.
