(N.2. Prtst Attn—Copyright PARI The World Boxing Assoc, ation has been criticised ip the French press for ranking a French boxer in the world’s top 10 welter-weights. Thi boxer is the fonner European champion, Roger Menetrey.- * For the fifth consecutive month the fonner lumberjack is ranked No. 4, behind the Mexican champion, Jose Naples, in the rankings issued in Panama by the association. But even the most partisan French boxing supporter thinks that the association is going too far. The man who convincingly beat Menetrey and took his European title last AprilJohn Stracey, of Britain—i.' still ranked only fifth. And, Menetrey retired frorr the ring—10 months ago.
