Entertainment from Russia
Sir, — As I originally started the controversy on Russian entertainment I should like to reply once more. The word Russian in an advertisement seems to fill people with awe, and 1 still maintain that their advertisements are very misleading — they can delete items from a programme with no explanation what-' soever. The programme I re- ; ferred to contained no ballet. I myself (a former ballet teacher) and two friends; i(ballet students) were very; disappointed in the show'. We saw acrobatic and miming artistry (not to be confused with ballet) and feel we shall continue to patronise our own New Zealand Ballet Company as we can be sure their productions will be of quality and produced as advertised. Perhaps if other people did likewise H there would be no need to '! pay exorbitant prices to
Russian artists. — Yours, 6tC NOT THIS TIME. February 29, 1975. [This correspondence is now closed.—Editor]
