Stonehouse still M.P.
MELBOURNE, January 13. Mr John Stonehouse, the rqnaway British M.P., has Igiven no indication that he intends to resign his seat in the House of Commons, his Melbourne lawyer said today. The lawyer, Mr James Patterson, said he had received no instructions from the 49-year-old former Government Minister about any possible resignation. He made the statement when he was asked about press reports from London that Labour Party officials and M.P.s would press for Mr Stonehouse’s removal from Parliament when the House of Commons resumed its sittings today after the Christmas recess. Meanwhile, Mr Stonehouse and his wife. Barbara, remained out of sight in the Sydney area with friends.
