Tenor dead
Max Lorenz, a famous tenor of the 1930 s and 1940 s noted for his performances in Wagner’s operas, died in a Vienna clinic yesterday, aged 72. Lorenz,” born in Duesseldorf, spent the early years of his career in Dresden and Berlin. He sang for many years at the Bayreuth Festival, and was well j known for his interpretation of such Wagner roles asi Siegmund, Siegfried, ‘ Tann-I haeuser, Tristan and Par-! sifal. — Vienna, January 13. 1
