(N.Z. Press Ason—Copyright) CANBERRA, Jan. 13. The Federal Government today approved additional employment projects involving 2600 people under its Regional Employment Development scheme aimed at easing the record level of unj employment. I No decision was made at a ! meeting of senior Cabinet 'Ministers in Sydney on additional funds to be allocated to the scheme. In other developments today after yesterday’s record unemployment figures announcement— The Acting Prime Minister (Dr Jim Cairns) met the president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (Mr Bob Hawke) and car industry unions to discuss the proposed dismissals by General Motors Holden, Dr Cairns accused the state governments of playing politics with the Federal Government’s attempts to relieve unemployment. The Opposition leader (Mr Bill Snedden) announced a five-point plan to revive the economy and his deputy, Mr Lynch, criticised the Government’s decision to remove the growth limit on the public service.
