Shah and Sadat end talks

CAIRO, January 13.

Egypt and Iran yesterday declared their rejection of attempts to blame the world inflation and monetary crisis on the increasing price of oil and said that no solution could be reached through threats and violence.

In a joint communique on talks between President Anwar Sadat and the Shah of Iran which ended in Cairo yesterday, the two countries also called for a balance between the prices of raw materials and manufactured goods. The communique asserted the right of people to exploit their natural resources in the interest of social and economic development and world prosperity. The communique said that the two sides “assert that solutions to be sought for an outlet from the world economic crisis must be based in

the first place on a basis of understanding and cooperation away from means of threats and violence, and on finding some kind of balance between the prices of raw materials and manufactured materials.”
