(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright)

CAIRO, January 13.

Egypt and Iran yesterday declared their rejection of attempts to blame the world inflation and monetary crisis on the increasing price of oil and said that no solution could be reached through threats and violence.

In a joint communique on talks between President Anwar Sadat and the Shah of Iran which ended in Cairo yesterday, the two countries also called for a balance between the prices of raw materials and manufactured goods. The communique asserted the right of people to exploit their natural resources in the interest of social and economic development and world prosperity. This was taken by observers as a reply to recent U.S. I statements about the possi-) bility of the use of force! against oil-producing coun-| tries to prevent the strangula.) tion of Western economies. The communique said that the talks had dealt with the world monetary crisis and inflation and “dfereement was reached on the need to reach urgent suitable solutions to these problems which are directly connected with the division of the world into backward poor nations and developed rich nations as well | as the non-balance between} the prices of raw materials) and manufactured materials.”) It added that the two sides,) In this respect, agreed to re-1 ject all recent attempts aimed at blaming the world inflation! and monetary crisis on in-1 creasing oil prices.

The communique said that the two sides “assert that solutions to be sought for an outlet from the world economic crisis must be based in

the first place on a basis of understanding and cooperation away from means of threats and violence, and on finding some kind of balance between the prices of raw materials and manufactured materials.”
