Study award to teacher
A Christchurch teacher has been awarded one of 15 study grants given annually by the Japan Foundation to teachers from countries around the Pacific. The grant, which will enable him to study the Japanese language for two months at a Governmentsponsored language institute in Tokyo, has been awarded to Mr J. Koopman, who has been a teacher at St Margaret’s College for the past three years. Mr 'Koopman, ’ who emigrated from the Netherlands seven years ago, is a graduate of the University of Canterbury and the secondary division of the Christchurch Teachers Cojlege.
