Communist plot?
Sir,—l thank K. McAllister for his comments on the editorial in “The Press," but would suggest that his amusement at my exposures of the attacks on the countries of Southern Africa by world communism is no laughing matter. Should the Communist bloc get control of the lands bordering the Indian Ocean, and'so the Indian Ocean, the future of the peoples of Australasia is grim indeed. This bloc now has bases in India and Ceylon, the Red Sea, and the East
.Coast of Africa down to Laurenco Marques. It is also doing well in Burma, and with a few more Whitlams could be established in Australia. If Vietnam goes, Thailand and Malaysia will fall like ripe plums. Everything to the Left is not necessarily a Communist plot, but much of it is a form of activity which is right up the Communist street, and a source of delight to the inhabitants of the Kremlin.—Yours, etc., A. C. R. ELDERTON. November 14, 1974.
