Canterbury loses badminton

Bettar all-round form in i doubles play gave Wallington [ a clear-cut win over Canter- ' bury by 11 matches to 5 In the national final of th* Division II badminton match for the R.S.L. trophy in the Skelierup Hall on Saturday night. Although Canterbury had earned the right to attempt to take the honours in their twelfth successive bid for the trophy the team’s showing in the latter stages of Saturday’s play fell well below expectations. W. Edgecumbe and B. Wilson won their singles to give Canterbury a reasonable start, and Miss S. Wells and Mrs N. Jacobs, kept the team well in the picture with wins in their singles. But from then oil the Wellington team was in complete command only dropping one more match in the women’s doubles, finishing with resounding victories in all mixed doubles.
