Polar bear returns

(N.Z. Press association) AUCKLAND. A marble statue of a polar bear that disappeared from the foyer of the Regent Theatre five months ago, has been recovered. Detectives found it in a house in Kingsland. A 21-year-old clerk has been charged with theft.

The bear, which weighs more than 2001 b, was .one of two at the theatre, which is now being demolished. The manager of the cinema division of Kerridge-Odeon (Mr L. K. Vella) said that Sir Robert Kerridge had decided the recovered statue would be put in the foyer of the new twin cinemas which have just opened in the city.
