Lindstrom ‘oarsman of the year’
D. E. Lindstrom, a member of the New Zealand rowling squad in Lucerne for the (world championships, has; 'been named Canterbury’s: ! “oarsman of the year.” Lindstrom’s selection, made by the Canterbury selectors, recognises his performances during the year—for the Avon club and New Zealand —and,’ his administrative work for; his club. As treasurer, Lind-, strom was very active in fund raising and also assisted in the induction of new members. i Previous winners of the trophv presented by the Legion of Oarsmen have been A. J. Earl (Avon), J. G. Lopas (Canterbury) and S. Le Compte (Union). The Canterbury' selectors named B. Allen (Canterbury), a member of the national colts eight last year, as winner of the Academy of Physical Training Trophy, for the best physically prepared 'oarsman of the year.
