Welfare team for Vietnam
(N.Z. Press 'Association) Wellington, August 12. The sixth New Zealand Red Cross welfare team for service in Indochina was announced today by the secretary-general of the society (Commander C. M. Ashdown). The new Team will comprise the leader and sanitation and transport officer, Mr M. Riding, who has already served in Pleiku, the mass care officer, Mr J. Pemberton, of Lower Hutt, and two nurses. Misses Leonie Terese Bowden, of Christchurch, and Mary Anne Gamer, of Wellington. The team will leave Wellington on August 28 to relieve the fifth team at Pleiku, South Vietnam — because, Commander Ashdown says, the work of the fifth team over the last year has shown clearly the need for further assistance to the people of Pleiku.
