This car took a nosedive into the Heathcote River when its young driver attempted to turn left from Ashgrove Terrace, Somerfield, soon after 7 p.m. last night. it appears that he mistook the narrow cycle bridge for the much wider
bridge a few hundred yards up the road. He emerged from the car wet, but unhurt. His car was undamaged but had water in the distributor when hauled from the river.
