Mutton for Peru

WELLINGTON, July 5. The sale to Peru of 2000 tonnes of New Zealand carcase ewe mutton was announced by the Meat Producers’ Board today. This brings thte total quantity of mutton bought by Peru this year to 6000 tonnes. The meat will be loaded at Auckland and Bluff and is to be shipped by December at the latest. The sale was negotiated by the board’s agents for this market, Dalgety (New Zealand), Ltd, with E.P.S.A., the Peruvian Government buying agency, under an agreement made last year in which New Zealand is guaranteed 70 per cent of Peru’s annual imports of sheepmeats.
