Peru sheep judge

Mr S. W. Allender, of Chrisfchurch, has accepted an invitation to judge Corriedale sheep at the thirteenth regional livestock show in southern Peru. The show, which will be held at Juliaca from May 26 to June 2, is the largest exhibition of sheep in South America. Juliaca is the centre of a large pastoral area which has been the destination of many New Zealand sheep exports in recent years. It will be Mr Allender’s second visit to Peru.’ As stud stock officer for Dalgety New Zealand Ltd, at Christchurch, he visited the country in 1969, after the export of a large shipment of stud and flock sheep.

Mr Allender will be one of only a few stud stock officers who have judged overseas, for judging appointments of an international nature have in the past fallen to stud stock breeders.
