No comment on Holmlea
(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. March 6. “I want to assess the whole thing, but I have not been ba.k to Wellington to discuss it with the Union Steam Ship Company,” the Minister of ! Transport (Sir Basil Arthur) said tonight, when questioned on the proposed withdrawal of the coaster Holmlea from the Lyttelton-Wellington run in June. “It will be one of the factors considered in present discussions on the whole New Zealand coastal shipping situation,” Sir Basil said. “It will make no difference to the Government’s policy on coastal shipping, which we intend to be a competitive mode of transport.”
