Ewington. were forty-fifth and fort' sixth in the giant slalom at the world alpine ski-ing championships at St Moritz [yesterday. The Italian. G. Thoeni. won the race with run times of Imin 36.715ec, and Imin 31.21 isec, giving a total of 3min 7.925ec. The two parallel I courses were 1290 metres ‘long with a vertical drop el 405 metres. H. Hinterseer (Austria) was second in 3min 08.84 sec ale i recording the fastest time on the second run (Imin 30..17 sec), which lifted him from sixth place after the first leg P. Gros (Italy) was third in 3min 08.91 sec. Womersley's times wen Imin 50.08 sec, Imin 47.855ec. and a total of 3min 37.935ec Ewington’s times were Imin 50.175ec and Imin 4R.19 sec. giving a total of 3min 38.365ec.
