World title retained
(WZ.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO. Koichi Wajima, of Japan, has retained his world junior middle-weight boxing title, beating the Brazilian, Miguel de Oliveira, on points, in Tokyo. The referee, Mr S. Ebina, gave the boxers equal points, but the two judges were in favour of Wajima. It was the first defeat in 36 professional fights for Oliveira, aged 26. He also has one draw—in his controversial title match against Wajima in January, 1972, in Tokyo. It was Wajima’s twenty-ninth victory. He has been beaten twice and has had one draw.
