The Australian Jockey Club will offer financial inducement to the connections of top New Zealand gallopers to appear at the Sydney Cup carnival. The club’s public relations director (Mr R. Alexander) will leave for NewZealand tomorrow with instructions to attract as many New Zealand stars to Sydney as possible. Mr Alexander has permission from the committee to put to New Zealanders a plan to defray or subsidise expenses for a trip to Australia. The main horses the A.J.C. has in mind are the Melbourne Cup runner-up, Glengowan; the Caulfield Cup winner, Swell Time; the Auckland Cup winner, Rose Mellay; and the top New Zealand three-year-old, Fury’s Order.
