Outsider wins second leg
An outsider. Truant Jan, led all the way to win the Roydon Stakes, second leg of the T.A.B. double, at Hutt Park last evening. A chestnut filly by Truant Hanover from Marawitl, which has produced several capable horses. Truant Jan was neglected by Wellington betters after a rather dismal seventh on the first night. Eau Savage battled on gamely for second after being without a trail early and then getting a perfect run. one out and one back in the later stages of the race.
Hill High battled into third place after trailing on the outer in midfield.
The track was fast, but the weather was windy.
