No Royal paint
i t A Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. When the Royal Yacht Britannia sailed from Auckland at 9 o’clock yesterday i morning, she was without her : special coat of Royal Yacht blue paint. The paint arrived in Auckland late on Sunday night and was not delivered to the ship until late on Monday morning, which did not allow enough time to apply the gleaming shine before she left for Lyttelton. Instead the ship will be painted at Lyttelton, where she will be the Queen’s floating home while the Commonwealth Games are in progress. i The 80 gallons of paint jwere air-freighted to Auckland at a cost of §3488.
