Restoration of engine

C/V.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. An old locomotive lying idle in Greymouth will be restored to serve as a relief engine for the Kingston Flyer. . The engine, to be known as A 8663, will join two other locomotives — A 8778 and A8795—0n the tourist line between Lumsden and Kingston. The Railways district mechanical engineer in Dunedin, Mr P. J. Anderson, said that the locomotive might be completed for next season. The engine would be brought to Dunedin by way of Christchurch for the restoration work. An additional car—van AFll72—will be renovated as a relief passenger vehicle for the Kingston Flyer, and to cater for increased demand from tourists and members of the public.
