Selection of teams
The Canterbury Amateur Cycling Centre is dissatisfied j with tile present set-up of select-1 ing Olympic and Commonwealth Games teams and will ask its; national association fo con-| sidcr pressing for changes. Its meeting last evening also [expressed concern about various aspects of tire national champion-i ships. It was particularly con-; I cerned at the appointed referee ■ and his assistant (Messrs T. D’E.j Cuff and G. J. Svcamore) not arriving for the road champion-1 ships, and about the actions of i Mr Cuff at the track champion-! ships. ’ Members also objected to the' national executive decision to debar entries bv the national -selectors for the 15,000 metres.;' It felt this was not a matter I in which the executive should! interfere.
And prompted by Mr R, H. Knight, tlie meeting was disappointed that changes to racing rules were onlv advised On the eve of the meeting. Finally, Mr W. S. Williams said the national council did not call for, or make any nominations, for the New Zealand madison championships.
