Malaysia seeks Japanese credit

KUALA LUMPUR, January 14. The Japanese Prime Minister (Mr Tanaka) began talks today with his Malaysian counterpart (Tun Abdul Razak), and Malaysian Government officials say that Tun Razak was expected to ask for a third yen credit and a lowering of duties and quotas, to enable Malaysia to export more to Japan, and thus to narrow the trade balance in favour of Japan.

The two leaders were also likely to discuss the neutralisation of South-East Asia guaranteed by the United States, the Soviet Union, and

This afternoon Mr Tanaka and his daughter, Makiko, who celebrates her thirtieth birthday today, had an audience with the Malaysian Yang Di-Pertuan Agong (King), Sultan Abdul Halim Shah, at the National Palace.
