Quiet time in Westport
Westport is probably one of the quietest places in New Zealand in the line of entertainment this holiday I season. [ Bad weather affected i some events organised for | the sports programme in Victoria Square on December 29. The cabaret set [ down for tonight has been cancelled because of only 19 double bookings by yesterday. The market day tentatively booked for January 5 has been cancelled, too, because the business community has failed to interest other organisations in this event. The Buller River tube race set down for late December was postponed because of the need for petrol economy. Many motorists usually follow this event.
