Warrant for Radio Avon

WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. The Labour Government would not interfere with Radio Avon’s warrant, said the Prime Minister-elect (Mr Kirk) in an interview this evening.
The Broadcasting Authority, today granted a private radio warrant to a Christchurch applicant, the Avon Broadcasting Company. “We said that we would not interfere with any warrant issued for private radio, and we will stand by that,” Mr Kirk said. “The question of future issues of warrants is something to be decided.”
