Government Orders
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. In one of its final administrative duties, the outgoing National Government tonight gazetted two notices and one order under statutory regulations. None of the three were major changes. Under the Judicial and Other Statutory Salaries Order, salaries for judges, magistrates, the Ombudsman, and Controller and Auditor-Gen-eral were increased in line with other increases in the Public Service. In a penal institutions notice, the Whakatane police station ceased to be a police gaol. The third item gazetted, the Food Additives Notice (No. 2), varies the maximum limits of arsenic, lead, tin, and pesticides that may be contained in certain foods and permits specified substances in stipulated quantities to be contained in certain foods.
