S.I. horses chosen

The three South Island selectors yesterday named a short list of 11 horses from which about six will be chosen to compete in jumping events at five shows in the North Island next year. This will include the ’’horse of the year” show at Levin In March. Southland horses dominate, with seven on the list. Canterbury has three representatives and South Canterbury one. The selectors—Mrs M. Dailey (Christchurch) and Messrs N. Matheson (Palmerston) and D. F. Collet (Gore) named the following: Cardiff Lass (B. Anderson), Pegasus (M. McCall), Santana (MeCall) Stirling Silver (no rider yet selected). Bush Creek (Miss J. Dunn), Ayreshlre Dawn (Miss Dunn), Early Night (B. Cousins), all Southland; Kieemo (Cousins), High Flyer (J. Bourne), Te Koa (P. Leatham), all Canterbury; Mighty Tarn (Mrs A. MeCully), South Canterbury.
