POSSIBLE DUAL VOTING NOTICED

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, 5. Investigations of possible dual voting in the Nelson and Tasman electorates* might delay publication of the final official count of votes in the General Election. The returning officer for Nelson (Mr T. R. Teague) said that the official count was completed except for about 1000 special votes. These could be received up to 7 pjn. today. He said that he had been unable to reconcile two cases of voting and had

placed these in the hands of the police for investigation. The returning officer for Tasman (Mr J. D. McMillan) said that his staff had also been investigating some apparent irregularities, and might have to ask the police to check them. Members had finished the scrutiny of the Tasman roll except for special votes, and had started the official count. About 1100 special voting declarations had yet to be cheeked. The official figures might be some time away yet, said Mr McMillan.
