Queensland miss win

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BRISBANE. Queensland was deprived of an outright win in its Sheffield Shield match against Victoria when bad light caused the abandonment of play as the home team moved to within 46 runs of its target. Play was finally abandoned as a draw shortly after tea, giving Queensland five bonus points and Victoria three. Queensland was 40 for no wicket at the start of play yesterday, requiring 160 runs to win and 300 minutes to get them. Queensland struggled throughout the morning session against a sustained Victorian bowling attack and in the process lost three wickets. Scores:— Victoria 169 and 196, Queensland 162 and 158/7 (S. Trimble 56).
