Boost for Otago golf

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. A surprise boost came for the Otago Charity Golf Classic yesterday with the announcement that the American professional, J. Miller, is back in the field only days after his withdrawal was cabled from the United States Miller will fly to New Zealand on Friday accompanied by another leading American professional, J. M. Heard—a late but welcome entry. They will be major drawcards for the $21,000 classic at the St Clair course next week. The United States golf manager, Mr E. Barner, telephoned the chairman of the classic organising committee (Mr R. M. Hall) in Australia at the week-end with the news that Miller had now decided to come to New Zealand and that he would be entered in the classic with Heard, an easy winner of the Garden City Classic at Christchurch last year.
