Settlement of dispute
There has been a satisfac•tory settlement of a dispute lover redundancy provisions [which led to 110 clothing (workers taking direct action a fortnight ago. Employed by the former Kaiapoi-Petone Group, which was taken over in September by Mosgiel Woollens, Ltd, the workers went on strike for two days, returning for the resumption of negotiations. Ninety of them were women.
I A statement issued jointly (by the management and the Canterbury Clothing Workers’ Union said only that a satisfactory settlement had been reached. The union secretary (Mr H. McCrory) (added that the workers were (completely happy with the outcome.
