Meeting on Manapouri

The Prime Minister (Mr Marshall), will receive a deputation from the Save Manapouri Campaign Committee when he visits Invercargill next Friday. The meeting had been requested by Mr J. G. Chewings, M.P. for Invercargill, Mr Marshall said tonight. He would reserve any comment on the committee’s resolution, passed last night, until after the meeting. The committee called for “meaningful assurances” within 48 hours on the hydroelectric proposals for Lakes Manapouri and Te Anau.
