‘Things not too bad in Aust.’

Australians should begin to spend the sBooom they have deposited in savings banks, according to the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Douglas Anthony). Speaking at a dinner to 1 support the Country Party’s campaign for the December 2 General Election, Mr Anthony said: “With that amount of money in savings banks, things cannot be too bad in Australia. “. . . The Government believes that it has an obligation to be watchful against undue interference in the business sector of the economy, whereas our political opponents want to see 'Government involvement, i direction, and control. They ! believe in moving progressively towards socialisation iof industry.” Mr Anthony added that the • Government would not interifere with the right of a company, or an individual, to make their own commercial decisions and judgements within the framework of the law.
